As believers, we are God’s children. A child of God will reflect His character. Each week, we focus on one scripture while highlighting a declaration (Who God is) and affirmation (Who we are as believers).
This week’s scripture is:
But our ancestors acted arrogantly; they became stiff-necked and did not listen to your commands. They refused to listen and did not remember your wonders you performed among them. They became stiff-necked and appointed a leader to return to their slavery in Egypt. But you are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in faithful love, and you did not abandon them.
Nehemiah 9:16-17
Declaration
God is forgiving.

Affirmation
I am forgiven.
God’s character is one of grace, compassion, and faithfulness. Despite all of the ways the Israelites ignored and disobeyed, God still forgave them. God is so forgiving that He sent Jesus Christ as a sacrifice for our sins. We have access to forgiveness and eternal life if we believe in Him.
A Prayer Starter…
Heavenly Father, I believe that you sent your Son, Jesus Christ, to release me from my sins. Lord, I give you my whole life. Use me for Your glory. Today, I declare that I am forgiven and I am a new creature in Christ. Thank you, God, for saving me from that which had me bound. Amen.
