As believers, we are God’s children. A child of God will reflect His character. Each week, we focus on one scripture while highlighting a declaration (Who God is) and affirmation (Who we are as believers).
This week’s scripture is:
8 When the cool evening breezes were blowing, the man[a] and his wife heard the Lord God walking about in the garden. So they hid from the Lord God among the trees. 9 Then the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”
Genesis 3:8-9 NLT
Declaration
God is omnipresent.

Affirmation
I am never hidden from God.
The blessing of God’s omnipresence is that we can never hide from God. We can truly experience His presence anywhere. In Genesis, we see God calling to man, “Where are you?” God already knew where the man was because He is all-knowing. But did the man realize where he was? Oftentimes, especially in scripture, God asks questions when He wants us to reframe how we’re looking at something. In this case, God used the question to seek Adam out, to go after the sinner, and allow Adam the opportunity to confess his sins.
