Weekly Declaration

POSTED ON

March 7, 2022

As believers, we are God’s children. A child of God will reflect His character. Each week, we focus on one scripture while highlighting a declaration (Who God is) and affirmation (Who we are as believers).

This week’s scripture is:

‘When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty ; walk before me faithfully and be blameless. Then I will make my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers.” ‘

Genesis 17:1-2 NIV

Declaration

Our Father is God Almighty.

Affirmation

I am enough.

God Almighty. El Shaddai. All-powerful. All-sufficient. Sovereign One. That is the God that we serve. As we face each day, we have to remember who’s lineage we belong to. We are children of El Shaddai. We carry His legacy everywhere we go. He is a Father who provides, equips, and strengthens. When we come into alignment with our Father, we are enough!

A Prayer Starter…

Heavenly Father, You are El Shaddai. God Almighty. All-Powerful Creator. Ruler of Everything. I praise and worship you, oh Sovereign One. Thank you. Thank you for the provision, protection, and preparation to walk forward. Continue to go before me, beside me, and all around me as I seek to do your will. Today, I will remember that You are enough, so I am enough… In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

S. Enoch

Advent Reflections – Even in the Waiting – Day 2

I have been lost a time or two. Usually, because I got distracted and wandered off the intended path. Whatever sparked my interest was enough to cause me to lose sight of my intended destination. In this passage, we find Jesus as a child, so focused on His Father’s business that he wanders off from his parents. In my own life, I’ve found that I’m not prone to wander towards my father’s business….but away from it.

Advent Reflections – Even in the Waiting – Day 1

As a child, nothing compared to the excitement of being able to sit up and waiting for New Year’s Day. We’d sit up as long as possible on December 31st awaiting the coming year. We knew what was coming, yet we had to watch the clock or we’d miss it. In this passage, Jesus reminds us of the signs before his second coming. He teaches that in order to recognize the second coming, we must stay alert. These verses prompt us to be mindful of the state of our hearts and to stay ready at all times for the coming day of God’s judgment.

REFLECTION – Do you find yourself growing weary in your walk with the Lord? How can you stay encouraged and ready for Jesus Christ’s second coming?
