Weekly Declaration

POSTED ON

March 14, 2022

As believers, we are God’s children. A child of God will reflect His character. Each week, we focus on one scripture while highlighting a declaration (Who God is) and affirmation (Who we are as believers).

This week’s scripture is:

13 Then the Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh? Why did she say, ‘Can an old woman like me have a baby?’ 14 Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return about this time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”

Genesis 18:13-14 NLT

Declaration

God performs miracles.

Affirmation

I believe God can do the impossible.

Our GOD performs miraculous works and wonders. In Genesis 18, the Lord promised Sarah and Abraham they would have a son. At their old ages, it would seem impossible, if up to society. Spoiler Alert. God did what He promised. But think about it, God spoke the world into existence, so bringing life into a womb is possible for Him. Our human nature looks at the impossible with fear and denial. Yet with faith, we can believe that God can do anything.

A Prayer Starter…

Heavenly Father, You are great and infinitely awesome. By meditating on Your word, I know that You can do anything and nothing that You’ve planned will fail. Lord, increase my faith. Help me to believe in the fullness of Your promises. Uncover the miracles taking place all around me… In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

S. Enoch

The days after New Year’s always feel full of potential and anticipation to me. While many people are looking forward to the coming year or accomplishing new goals and resolutions, I take this time to look back. It’s always eye-opening to see how little decisions add up; and how one small shift changes the trajectory of life. I truly believe that taking time to reflect during the month of January re-centers my vision for the year ahead.

Advent Reflections – Even in the Waiting – Day 5

The passage illustrates the importance of being a beacon of light in dim, dark places, as guided by Luke 11:33-36. One must not let comfort lead to dulled awareness, but instead consciously illuminate one’s environment. It urges self-reflection on how one’s personal light can lead others towards embracing Jesus.

Advent Reflections – Even in the Waiting – Day 4

The Lord’s Prayer 11 Now Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples.” 2 And he said to them, “When you pray, say: “Father, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. 3 Give us each day our daily bread, 4 and forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive everyone
