As believers, we are God’s children. A child of God will reflect His character. Each week, we focus on one scripture while highlighting a declaration (Who God is) and affirmation (Who we are as believers).
This week’s scripture is:
The Lord kept his word and did for Sarah exactly what he had promised. 2 She became pregnant, and she gave birth to a son for Abraham in his old age. This happened at just the time God had said it would.
Genesis 21:1-2 NLT
Declaration
God keeps His promises.

Affirmation
I believe the promises of God will happen.
When the Lord visited Abraham and Sarah, He told them that in one year’s time, they would have a child. They were both surprised because of their old age and inability to have children. Yet here we see that the word of God came to pass, just like He said. This isn’t an isolated event. There are multiple stories in the Bible that demonstrate that God is a promise keeper. Think about the ways the Lord has been a promise keeper in your life. God is still keeping His word. He is a promise keeper.
A Prayer Starter…
Heavenly Father, You are a promise keeper. From the beginning to the end of times, your word and promises will prevail. God, I am grateful for you moving in magnificent ways. Help me to continue to believe in your promises each and every day… In Jesus’ name. Amen.
