As believers, we are God’s children. A child of God will reflect His character. Each week, we focus on one scripture while highlighting a declaration (Who God is) and affirmation (Who we are as believers).
This week’s scripture is:
Then Abraham looked up and saw a ram caught by its horns in a thicket. So he took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering in place of his son. Abraham named the place Yahweh-Yireh (which means “the Lord will provide”). To this day, people still use that name as a proverb: “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.”
Genesis 22:13-14 NLT
Declaration
God will provide.

Affirmation
I have all that I need.
Abraham climbed the mountain prepared to give his son, Isaac, as a sacrifice. Why? Because that is what the Lord had instructed him to do. Remember, Abraham and Sarah had prayed for years to have children. Now, God was asking him to sacrifice the very gift he prayed for. But, God halted Abraham and provided a ram in the bush. Provision for the sacrifice was there; God had to ensure Abraham was truly willing to surrender to God’s will. So often, God asks us to sacrifice things that we place on pedestals to determine what our heart is truly in allegiance to and then we find God had even more provision waiting for us in the midst of sacrifice.
A Prayer Starter…
Heavenly Father, Jehovah Jireh. The Lord who provides. You are a gracious God and I have all that I need. Thank you for your provision even in the middle of sacrifice. Help me remain willing to release in order to receive all that you have for me… In Jesus’ name. Amen.
