“The sun will no longer be your light by day,
Nor shall the bright glow of the moon give light to you,
But the Lord will be an everlasting light for you;
And your God will be your glory and splendor.
“Your sun will no longer set,
Nor will your moon wane;
For the Lord will be your everlasting light,
And the days of your mourning will be over.

Isaiah 60:19-20 AMP

It’s easy to have confidence in God when things are going well. But, there are seasons when life seems dark and lonely. Times where every direction you turn in appears hopeless. Situations where family and friends seem so distant. It’s in those dim moments that faith can wane. The mind can wander and wonder if you will ever see light again, but I am reminding you that it will.

God is everlasting light during dark seasons.

Today, I want to encourage you to live in the light! Be confident that even in the darkest of nights God is with you. Dwell in His word for it is a lamp to your feet and light to your path. God will transform your darkest season for His glory. Keep walking in God’s light and listening to His guidance. It won’t be dark and lonely for much longer; Better days are waiting ahead.

Advent Reflections – Even in the Waiting – Day 2

I have been lost a time or two. Usually, because I got distracted and wandered off the intended path. Whatever sparked my interest was enough to cause me to lose sight of my intended destination. In this passage, we find Jesus as a child, so focused on His Father’s business that he wanders off from his parents. In my own life, I’ve found that I’m not prone to wander towards my father’s business….but away from it.
