But Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid! Go ahead and do just what you’ve said, but make a little bread for me first. Then use what’s left to prepare a meal for yourself and your son. For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: There will always be flour and olive oil left in your containers until the time when the Lord sends rain and the crops grow again!”1 Kings 17:13-14 NLT
There’s this saying that familiarity breeds contempt. Looking at the same things or people every day can grow old. As time passes, you lose respect for things, or even people you cherish, because they’re common or close to you. Feeding a familiarity mindset will starve the beauty of God’s blessings.
God has placed provision all around you.
Today, I want to encourage you to look around and see God’s provision! There were seasons that you prayed for things that you have right now at this moment. Look around. Shelter. Family. Job. There are so many things to be grateful for, even in the waiting season. Don’t let familiarity rob you from recognizing God’s provision until new blessings rain down.
