As believers, we are God’s children. A child of God will reflect His character. Each week, we focus on one scripture while highlighting a declaration (Who God is) and affirmation (Who we are as believers).
This week’s scripture is:
From there Isaac moved to Beersheba, where the Lord appeared to him on the night of his arrival. “I am the God of your father, Abraham,” he said. “Do not be afraid, for I am with you and will bless you. I will multiply your descendants, and they will become a great nation. I will do this because of my promise to Abraham, my servant.” Then Isaac built an altar there and worshiped the Lord. He set up his camp at that place, and his servants dug another well.
Genesis 26:23-25 NLT
Declaration
God protects His children.

Affirmation
I will not fear because I am protected by God.
Isaac was travelling through foreign lands in a time of famine. All along the way, he was met with hurdle after hurdle. And missteps were made. Yet, we still see God speaking with Isaac; confirming His promises. And in response, Isaac builds an altar and worships the Lord. He then establishes a camp there. When God has given us a promise, we need to trust that He will protect us while we accomplish it.
A Prayer Starter…
Heavenly Father, You are forgiving. Thank You for protecting me, even when I make mistakes. Lord, I will praise You during the journey, not just after the promise is fulfilled… In Jesus’ name. Amen.
