43 Again and again he rescued them,

but they chose to rebel against him,

and they were finally destroyed by their sin.

44 Even so, he pitied them in their distress

    and listened to their cries.

45 He remembered his covenant with them

and relented because of his unfailing love.

46 He even caused their captors

    to treat them with kindness.

Psalm 106: 43-46 NLT

Again and again, we wake up with new mercies. Again and again, we sin. No matter how hard we may try, it’s in our nature. Sin is what we’re predisposed to, yet it doesn’t have to have the final say.

God’s love is unfailing.

Today, I want to encourage you to cry out! Call out your sins to God. You will see that God loves you again and again. The Lord hears when you cry out in the midst of your struggle. He is aware of each and every one of your sins and He responds with wisdom and mercy. Don’t despise the discipline because he does it with grace and unfailing love.

Advent Reflections – Even in the Waiting – Day 2

I have been lost a time or two. Usually, because I got distracted and wandered off the intended path. Whatever sparked my interest was enough to cause me to lose sight of my intended destination. In this passage, we find Jesus as a child, so focused on His Father’s business that he wanders off from his parents. In my own life, I’ve found that I’m not prone to wander towards my father’s business….but away from it.
