Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop.
2 Corinthians 9:6 NLT
In seasons when resources are limited, it’s normal to want to conserve. The mind naturally shifts to minimizing waste and prioritizing self over others. But are those thoughts in alignment with Jesus’ teachings? It’s similar to planting crops, what you sow you will reap. When you’re stingy with what you give, you get a minimal return.
God honors generosity.
Today, I want to encourage you to live openhanded! We are generous because we serve a God that doesn’t withhold from His children. He freely gives to us so that we can freely give to others. God multiplies our seed so that we can share the harvest with those in need. We can bless others because of the overflow that God blesses us with.
Reflect – Where has God been calling you to be generous?
