As believers, we are God’s children. A child of God will reflect His character. Each week, we focus on one scripture while highlighting a declaration (Who God is) and affirmation (Who we are as believers).
This week’s scripture is:
May God Almighty give you mercy as you go before the man, so that he will release Simeon and let Benjamin return. But if I must lose my children, so be it.”
Genesis 43:14 NLT
Declaration
God grants mercy.

Affirmation
I am covered in God’s mercy even when I doubt.
There are moments when faith and doubt coexist within our souls. It’s in those times where we become like the father desperately seeking saving for his possessed son. We find ourselves saying, “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!” (Mark 9:14-29). As we mature, we learn to be more aware of when doubt comes creeping in. What’s incredible is that God still covers us with mercy. He still shows us compassion in our shortcomings.
A Prayer Starter…
Heavenly Father, You are merciful. You continue to cover me with compassionate grace even when I have doubts. Lord, help my unbelief. Grant me clarity to see You and trust in You wholeheartedly… In Jesus’ name. Amen.
