As believers, we are God’s children. A child of God will reflect His character. Each week, we focus on one scripture while highlighting a declaration (Who God is) and affirmation (Who we are as believers).
This week’s scripture is:
How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart? Cleanse me from these hidden faults.
Psalm 19:12 NLT
Declaration
God cleans my heart.

Affirmation
I don’t have to hide my faults.
God knows that we are all flawed, but we walk around trying to cover our faults and flaws. We tell ourselves stories about how we are the way we are as an easy way out. We make no effort to surrender aspects of our human nature, like selfishness, greed, or lust. Yet, God knows all of our innermost thoughts and motives. He knows the real roots of our actions. He sees through the facade. We don’t have to hide from him. We don’t have to pretend when we enter His presence. We can ask Him to reveal and cleanse our hearts and He will.
A Prayer Starter…
Heavenly Father, You know the innermost workings of my heart. You see beyond the walls and stories I’ve created to cover my flaws. Lord, uncover the sins lurking in my heart. Cleanse me and make me new … In Jesus’ name. Amen.
