Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.
James 1:19 NLT
How frequently do you get frustrated? Monthly? Weekly? Daily? Maybe it’s during traffic or when a piece of technology is malfunctioning. Perhaps it’s a friend or coworker that just rubs you the wrong way. Either way these little agitations are perfect indications of the level of your patience. So often we pray to God for patience. Most of the time it’s patience in waiting for something we want. But what happens when God presents you with other opportunities to be patient with things you don’t want? Are you stewarding it well or letting emotions run the show? Today we’re appreciating the many opportunities we have to produce good fruit, even if we’re frustrated.
Reflect – When was the last time you were angry? Can you think of one action you could have done to turn that situation into a fruitful one? In your own words, Pray that God increases your sensitivity to opportunities to steward emotions well and produce fruit of the spirit…
