Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41:10 ESV
When we try new things, it can be discouraging or anxiety-provoking. Oftentimes, people avoid doing new things, because they don’t like to feel like a novice. It’s human nature to try to stick with what we know and excel at. But there will be seasons when God calls us to do something new… to stretch ourselves beyond where we feel confident and capable.
God partners with our weakness and inexperience.
Today, I want to encourage you to release the fear! When God calls you to new things, he doesn’t need your perfection. He needs your willing spirit and obedience. It’s in obedience to His will that you are able to see the true power of God move and you become more aware of your limitations as well as the work that God is doing within you. Let go of striving to feel confident and embrace conforming to God’s will.
Reflect – What new area is God calling you to? Are you pursuing it wholeheartedly or have you allowed fear to hinder your obedience?
