As believers, we are God’s children. A child of God will reflect His character. Each week, we focus on one scripture while highlighting a declaration (Who God is) and affirmation (Who we are as believers).
This week’s scripture is:
But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— 6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 2:4-7 ESV
Declaration
God is merciful.

Affirmation
I am forgiven.
Mercy is defined as compassion or forgiveness shown toward someone whom it is within one’s power to punish or harm. Our Heavenly Father is the originator of mercy. It is woven into the threads of His nature. He lavishes it upon His sons and daughters. Do you receive it? Do you receive his compassion and forgiveness? Today, we are declaring that we are forgiven. We no longer have to function under the sins of our past. We have been set free. We are walking in forgiveness and freedom today forward.
A Prayer Starter…
Heavenly Father, You are merciful. Your kindness towards me is unmatchable. Thank you for forgiveness through Your son, Jesus Christ. Lord, I embrace what Jesus did on the cross all those years ago. I declare that I am walking in freedom today and forevermore… In Jesus’ name. Amen.
