“Therefore, you should pray like this: Our Father in heaven,
Matthew 6:9-13 CSB
your name be honored as holy.
10 Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And do not bring us into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.
For some, prayer can feel intimidating. There are times when it’s hard to find the words to express what is truly on our hearts; seasons when it’s challenging to string together sentences or even create a coherent thought. In those moments, it’s easy to overcomplicate what prayer is, especially after seeing others using fancy words or elaborate sentences.
God hears all of our prayers.
Today, I want to encourage you to keep praying! The beauty of prayer is that God hears us regardless of how plain our prayers may be. God simply asks that we approach Him with open vulnerability; bearing our hearts to Him. He cares about the big and small details, no fluff necessary. Try reciting the Lord’s Prayer to cleanse your prayer palate and start afresh.
Reflect – Do you hesitate to pray? What is holding you back from talking with your Heavenly Father?
