We say we want healing, but sometimes if we’re honest, we avoid it. Not because we don’t need it, but because we know it will cost us something. Comfort. Control. Familiarity. Healing sounds good until it requires us to confront things we’ve gotten used to living with. The grief we’ve buried. The habit we’ve justified. The wound we’ve worn like a badge.
God doesn’t want us just surviving. He wants us whole.
Wholeness has always been His will. From the garden to the cross, God’s desire has been to bring His children back to fullness, not just physically, but emotionally, spiritually, and relationally. Jesus didn’t walk around handing out half-healings. When He touched someone, they were restored. Sight returned. Blood stopped. Identity restored. Lameness turned into dancing. More than that, He spoke peace over minds and lifted shame off shoulders. He made people whole.
So why do we resist it?
Sometimes it’s fear. We’ve learned how to function with our pain. We’ve built routines and identities around our brokenness. Letting go of that means we have to live differently, respond differently, believe differently. Y’all, that’s scary, but God never calls us out of something without leading us into something better. The discomfort of healing is temporary. The fruit of healing is eternal.

Avoiding the process won’t make the need go away. That unforgiveness? Still poisoning your peace. That trauma? Still shaping how you love. That insecurity? Still whispering lies into your purpose. And while we may have learned to live around it, we’re not living in the full freedom we’ve been given. Wholeness is when our hearts align with truth, our bodies carry peace, our relationships reflect grace, and our minds are no longer held hostage by fear.
Healing is hard, but avoidance is harder in the long run.
You may not be able to fix it all at once, but you can take the first step. Say the prayer. Make the call. Book the appointment. Open the journal. Let God into the places you’ve kept locked away. His healing is not forceful, but it is faithful. He won’t rush you, but He will walk with you.
Wholeness is God’s will for your life. Not just on paper, not just in eternity, but here and now.
Say yes.
Begin again.
Let Him make you whole.
Take Care,
