As believers, we are God’s children. A child of God will reflect His character. Each week, we focus on one scripture while highlighting a declaration (Who God is) and affirmation (Who we are as believers).
This week’s scripture is:
Be silent before the Lord and wait expectantly for him;
PSALM 37:7 CSB
do not be agitated by one who prospers in his way,
by the person who carries out evil plans.
Declaration
God responds.

Affirmation
I wait in expectation for God’s response.
Whenever we encounter people or problems that aggravate us, it’s natural to cry out to the Lord. Agitation and silence don’t usually mix, but that is exactly what the psalmist instructs us to do. It’s natural to want to complain, but sometimes the wisest thing we can do is wait quietly in expectation. We don’t need to worry about what other people are doing because God will deal with them accordingly.
A Prayer Starter…
Heavenly Father, You value justice. Thank You for reminding me to wait patiently on You. I don’t need to gripe or complain because vengeance is Yours and Yours alone. I will wait in expectation for Your response. Lord, help me to keep my focus on You in the meantime… In Jesus’ name. Amen.
